John Pavlovitz, on his substack argues that America is experiencing a profound moral crisis, not just political dysfunction.

I'd argue that we are just returning to the racist norm. But he makes very good points.

  • He contends that the nation's "soul is dying" due to what they describe as widespread mistreatment of brown-skinned immigrants (ed. note, I'd add all people of color here—I remember George Floyd, Ahmaud Aubery, etc.)
  • He presents a contrast between the "screams" of those being harmed and the "silence" of privileged white Americans who arguably are failing to respond
  • He calls for white Americans to actively oppose what the systematic brutalization of immigrant communities
  • Remaining silent in the face of perceived injustice is itself a moral failure

Our Call to Action

I agree with the final bit 100%.

"Find the courage to speak with clarity"

"Silence will not protect anyone from eventual consequences."

That is our mission here as well.

Non in cautus futuri.
