Trump has consistently tried to reframe the country’s past involving racism and discrimination by de-emphasizing it or denying that it happened.
Last week, the President chose to completely ignore the Juneteenth holiday. This should have come as no surprise to anyone paying attention to this administration.

Since taking office, he has attacked any mention of DEI throughout the government, even erasing Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson! He has consistently tried to reframe the country’s past involving racism and discrimination by de-emphasizing that history or at times denying that it happened. Yes, his slip is showing, but we all knew this going back to his early days as a NY real estate developer denying access to his properties for people of color.
